Question:

Is there a website where I can enter a UK landline number, and get the name or address of the caller?

I keep receiving unsolicited calls on my home phone and mobile, from people who fail to leave a message or voicemail. I refuse to waste money returning a call to a person or company, just to find out who they are, because they don't have the manners to leave return contact details.

  1. http://www.webtaxi.com/reverse-phone-num...

    BUT

if they did not leave contact details, you don't have the number either, so how would you look it up?

Most likely they are telemarketers, who either block their numbers or use software that fakes their number...in USA lately a lot of people are getting calls from what looks like their OWN number, but it is just people ltrying to sell them stuff.

Just delete all messages from people you don't know.

  2. In the past to find a company I have Googled the number and found out who it is. If it is a home number and exdirectory then no site will show it. Best thing to do is ring the operator and tell them the problem, they will be able to inform you if it is residential or a business number, they will also be able to advise on how to report the problem. I believe operator is still free by dialing 100 (although been a long time since I did that)
