First, you could try freecycle.org for your area  http://www.freecycle.org/     it's a suprising great resouce for finding used items that people are giving away in your area. I recommend joining if there is a group close by, it's free. You can also post ads for free. Freecycle is everywhere.

Also try half.com (now known as half.com by eBay) if you know the names of the books that you need.   http://www.half.ebay.com/

Also, try checking craigslist.com in your state/area   http://buffalo.craigslist.org/    you can search the site as well as post a free listing about what you are looking for.

Additionally, try locating a homeshool co-op in your area. They may have used books for sale.

I used the Bob Jones curriculum, it was VERY good! Very thorough and when I hit college, I felt very confident because of the strong education that I received from that curriculum.

My favorite website is http://www.vegsource.com/homeschool/.  Just click on the 9-12th grade For Sale items button.  You can scroll down and look for 9th grade curriculum.  Most sellers give specific publishers and subjects.  I have purchased many items using this website.  Most sellers are homeschool moms selling books they are no longer using.  Most sellers will describe what condition the book is in and if it's in a non-smoking home.
