I would start by checking the old newspapers in that town. The Library or archives should be a good place to start. If its a small town, you could chat up some locals, they usually know everything about a town!

Since most newspapers have websites now, you could probably check their archives online.  I would use the address as the keyword first, then perhaps search the obituaries.  Most of the papers charge a fee, so be prepared.  If you've done a title search, you can also use the names of the previous owners.

You could also find out how many times the police have been called to that address.
