Is there a wireless reciever?

just wondering if there is some sort of wireless reciever out there that i can plug into my pc or router that will alow me to access the internet with out having to use an ethernet cord so that i can take my laptop around the house but not have to pay for a whole new wireless internet connection which cost to much. i just want a wireless reciever from my pc to my modem/ router cheers. =)

Does your router have wireless? If yes, you only need to get a wireless card for your PC (usb-based cost about $20 or less).

If not, you need BOTH a wireless router and a receiver. But today, b/g wireless routers go for $50 or less.
