Is there a word meaning "to have or having problems"?

I think 'troubled' could be one, but, um, is there something that can be used more pretentiously than that? lol ...You know, something more eloquent?

    I just have to note that perplexity was my favorite. Did this help any? I sure had fun doing it; I like reading and word usage a lot.
