Is there an American men's olympic team?

If so how do I become a member. On ESPN.com a woman just went to a tryout.

  1. Yes, there is. Of course, WE MEAN THE 7-A-SIDE, Goal game, which is part of the Olympic schedule, not the ball-to-wall stuff Americans seem to prefer to call handball.Both US teams are weak, they have practically played in the Olympics only when they were the host country. Qualification for the Olympics is made through the Panamerican Games. The South-American nations are far better than the US and block them. Greenland is also better, because they use Danish players and Denmark is one of the top handball nations.

    Handball being a team sport (7 on the field, 16 usually on a squad) you can't try without playing for a club first. My hunch though is that you mean the same ball-to-wall stuff. In that case, no chance. Nobody knows that stuff outside North America and Ireland and it's nowhere near the Olympic programme.
