The HR10-250 is outdated & will not pickup all or even many of your HD channels.

Look for a HR21-700 or HR20.

no, the TiVo models are not mpeg-4 compatible and the piece that plugs into the back of the HR20 and HR21 models will not help. Most of DirecTV's HD feeds are broadcast in mpeg-4 right now, and the ones that would still be available on the HR10-250 model will eventually be broadcast in the same format, too.

If you want a TiVo specifically you will need to get a separate unit and subscription because DirecTV doesn't market their products anymore.

yes of course, but you need to purchase it on a retail store or from Ebay. The Model is an HR10-250 HD DVR with Tivo software
