Question:

Is there an Rx or OTC drug with HYPOtension as a side effect?

Can anyone think of Rx or OTC drugs that have hypotension (low Blood Pressure) as a side effect? Not a drug primarily used to lower blood pressure (like beta blockers, Ca-channel blockers, etc), but one used for other conditions that has a side effect of hypotension (low Blood Pressure).

Thanks!

  1. Potentially any medication may cause hypotension as a side effect, but this is hardly desirable.

  2. Sure, there's a bunch.  With most opiates/opioids we often see hypotension as an adverse (dose-limiting) effect.  Alpha blockade often results in orthostat. hypotension, as does sildenafil, and any anti-hypertensive has the potential of causing symptomatic hypotension.  There's frankly too many agents to list.
