  1. I don't think there really is a standard formula. Those figure skating movies are not always technically correct, sadly. Pretty much all coaches have different techniques as how you jump, which direction, arm position, entrance to jump, etc, etc. But an axel is always taken off on a forward left outside edge and revolve 1 1/2 times in the air and land on a backwards right outside edge.

  2. take on bord all these comments but to help you go fasterr remember to take your arms in at one point thats whta my coach says xx

  3. nopee you just have to practice!practice makes perfect!

  4. there is no formula except practice

  5. ummm..... of course not it's practice makes it better or in other words perfect! keep practicing! there is no such thing as formula in skating it's called technique if you do the right techniqe then you will get it everytime(consistant) and the technique is the same

  6. I doubt it but there are different ways to practice getting your axel "under your belt". Practice doing a waltz jump then right into a one revolution back spin and stretch out your leg afterward like you just landed. Also you can try doing a waltz jump then right into a loop jump. That works as well! Good LUCK!!!!!!

  7. No.  But if you doing everything you're supposed to do right, it should work.  Make sure you kick your free leg through and swings your arms straight through.  It may help if you focus on something.  Jump off your toe, don't let your take off edge curve too much (it has to curve a little though).  Get a good hip snap in the air.  Practice doing them off ice and also practice doing waltz jumps with a good kick through.

  8. Ice princess is fake! lol, i dont think so
