Is there an adapter i can get just for am radio?

i only have am radio with cassete in my car, i was going to be a ipod nano, but can a casete adater pick up on jut am radio, and if not is there any other adapter i can get for it

Should work fine. Probably won't be stereo, though. You might consider satellite radio instead. Several of the radios are portable so you can play in car, home or just on your person. If you run through the car system - same thing: mono.
