I plan on getting an Xbox 360 soon and I don't have a wireless access point to connect it to, so I'll have to wire the connection to my cable modem. The problem is the modem only has one ethernet port. I believe the Xbox 360 is required to be plugged in to an ethernet port to connect to the interweb. Is there some kind of adapter or something that I can buy that will plug into my ethernet port and split it so I can hook my PC and my Xbox up to the interweb at the same time?

  1. Buy a HUB, SWITCH, or ROUTER.

They will all do the job.

    Internally they behave differently for

larger networks, but for your purpose

they would be identical - get the cheapest

one. typically hub < switch < router

  2. you can buy a splitter but nit would be easier to buy a modem switch
