Is there an advantage of taking Clomid days 4-8 vs 5-9?

My doc says to take my Clomid days days 5-9 but if I start like in the middle of the night to go ahead and take it on days 4-8 because if you start taking it on day 6 it is really pointless. Has anyone else taking clomid days 4-8? Any success?

I'm not positive if there is an advantage to days 4-8 but I know that I took them on days 5-9 and got pregnant the first month on 50mg. Best wishes and I hope clomid works for you as well as it did for me!!!

There are three common schedules for Clomid: CD1-5, CD3-7 and CD5-9, and they vary in success depending on your body's needs and also your own cycle. If you're on a normal or short cycle, that's why he might have said take it CD4-8 instead. You don't want to add stimulus to the maturation process once most of the growth has happened and certainly if the LH levels are already rising. It should work fine if you need to take it 12 hours earlier and that makes it CD4!
