Is a 16 year old without a license or permit allowed to drive solo on an ATV (4 - wheeler) in the state of Arizona? I know that in our town, riding on the street is not allowed, but I am unaware of an age limit.

Thanks!

  1. I am unaware of the age limit, as ALL the kids ride an ATV in my area-Far East Valley.  I don;t think anyone really bats an eye.

Everything is off-road.  And I also do encourage you to wear a helmet.  Over the years I have seen so many students with injuries ranging from broken bones, severe burns, hospitalization, and one girl whose hair got caught up somehow-and was lucky when her neck snapped it didn't break!

  2. Ask a cop when you see one. It is a simple answer.

  3. you can never drive it on the road but, i never heard of a license for off-road

  4. Persons, under the age of 18, must wear a helmet

    on an ATV in Arizona.

A driver may not carry a passenger on an ATV designed for one person.

So you will be fine with wearing a helmet.
