I'm wanting to buy a train ticket im wondering if theres an age limit at all?

  1. Only if you want to pay by credit or debit card, in which case you'd need to be old enough to hold a bank account.

    Otherwise, if you are tall enough to see over the booking office counter there wouldn't be a problem. You're not planning on running away from home, are you?


  2. There's no limit at all, no matter how you pay.

    Obviously however, if you are a 5 year old going by yourself, you may find the police come and take you home, or at least ask you questions.

    If you've got the money, and you know where to go, and what to ask for, then you'll be fine.

    In the UK, anybody over 5 can purchase tickets. You actually get a 50% discount if you are aged 5-15.

    This assumes you are staying in the country, and not getting any international train services like Eurostar.
