I wanted to get a Mongoose M200 (http://urbanscooters.com/P/Electric-Scooters/mongoose/mongoose-m200.html). I was wondering if there is an age requirement or if I need a license to ride around my neighborhood. BTW, I'm in the US. Thanks

  1. It depends on what state you live in.  Some have no restrictions while others have minimum ages ranging from 14 to 16.  The best thing to do would be to search the website of your state's DMV.

  2. Why don't you ask Urban scooters .com?

    In the UK,

Avon and Somerset police say e-scooter or "buzz board" riders must have: a driving licence; a helmet (if the distance between the wheels is greater than 460mm); tax; MOT certificate; insurance; number plates; brakes (exempt if vehicle is unable to exceed 25mph); indicators; an audible warning instrument if the vehicle is able to achieve speeds in excess of 20mph; and a speedometer (exempt if vehicle is unable to exceed 25mph).

  3. nope, as long as it's not gas.  Just don't ride it in the street if there are a bunch of cars, and be careful!

  4. It depends on the state and the type of scooter.  If you're talking about something like a moped, then in some cases you need a license, but it depends.  Check with your local DMV (see link below).

  5. dunno

    my friend says 14,

    but nobody cares

just don't ride them on the big roads

  6. I bet that it is 16 ,
