In the US there they usually publish the Air Quality Index, esp. during summertime. Is there an equivalent in Metro Manila?

  1. The Environmental Management Bureau under the Department of Environment & Natural Resources is a government agency tasked  to implement and monitor Air Quality Management.

The Department prepares an annual National Air Quality Status Report which shall be used as the continual basis in formulating the Integrated Air Quality Improvement Framework, as provided for in Section 7 per RA 8749 - Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999

  2. I think that despite all the references that BruiseBan gave us, and all the laws in effect, nobody monitors the pollution and if they wanted to, the equipment is probably broken.

The biggest problems are faulty diesel engines and burning of weeds (instead of mowing) or burning of garbage, plastic and such.
