Is there an agency/organization that will certify a company that they are meeting 'green' standards?

I am heading an Environmental Responsibility initiative at our company, and we have made significant progress. I would like to find an agency that certifies or awards a company for these types of activities so that we can work towards receiving this recognition.

Any ideas will help.

I'm sure there are many, including ISO (International Standards Organization), but you should also check out Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C), which covers the entire life cycle of the item, from production to disposal. This isn't a governmental organization.

Take a look at InterfaceFLOR, a very responsible carpeting company as one example.
