Is there an alternative to a rug on a concrete slab?

Let me explain:

Several years before I bought my house, an addition was put onto this house. While the original house is on a crawlspace, the addition was built on a slab. They put carpet down. It looks nice but it's been many, many years and I want to replace the carpet. I will put new carpet down if need be but I was just wondering if something else would look good over concrete slab. What would it be? Any suggestions?

Any and all suggestions are welcome and to all who answer, thanks.

You should be able to get it & have it installed starting around $5.00 a sq. ft.
