  1. yes they can be dissolved...... Barberry L. Berberis vulgaris

NOT TO BE TAKEN IN PREGNANCY ...this herb acts on the gallbladder to improve bile flow and ameliorate conditions as gall bladder pain, gallstones and jaundice .

There is also chinese herbs/mushrooms available.....

  2. The Yoga Pranayam (breathing exercises) will  help dissolve the gall/kidney stones.

Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after 1 minute.

Bhastrika - Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose. Duration upto 5 minutes.

    Anulom Vilom –

Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril

then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril

then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril

then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.

This is one cycle of anulom vilom.

Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30  minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).

You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.

    Duration : 5 to 12  times

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Once you are better, continue the pranayam once a day.

Be patient, as the benefits will show over a period of months.Only by doing you will benefit

and feel good because you are helping your body. Those who say I have tried everything....

will be amazed at the result of doing pranayam.

  3. Yes! Ask your doctor about ursodiol. This drug helps dissolve gallstones. However, it can't be used in patients with blocked bile ducts.

  5. You should really research and try Dr. Hulda Clark's  Liver Cleanse. From her book: The Cure For All Diseases. ( found at most health food stores)

It is an easy two day cleanse and will make you pass several gallstones and hundreds of miniature stones (called chafe) in the making from your gallbladder and liver.

Part of the cleanse is indeed fresh grapefruit juice mixed with olive oil.

You prepare by eating a non-fat breakfast and lunch, this provides a little pressure in the  bileducts since they are not being activated to empty into the upper digestive system to break down fats.

Then in the afternoon you clean out the bowels several times by drinking epsom salts. No more food the rest of the day, so be sure you have nothing scheduled and nowhere to go.

then in the evening right before bed time you squeeze fresh Grapefruit juice and mix it with light olive oil and drink it.

Sounds gross but it is not to bad and goes down really well if you use a big straw so as not to get it in your whole mouth.

Then you quietly lay down in bed and don't move for half an hour at least.

The olive oil will give the bile ducts a very strong signal to produce and empty into the system. The previous Epsom salts have made sure the bile ducts are already opened up.

Then in the morning you take some more salts and go to the bathroom.

If everything went right you will see hundreds, really!, of little green stones floating in the toilet. They float because they come from the gallbladder and liver and are full of cholesterol and fat. People don't realize how many gallstones are produced and back up in the liver.

I have done this cleanse three times now over a two year period. For me it has seriously clear up skin allergies.

the Liver cleanse can be found on the web but I would do the whole thing right and follow the instructions in the book, which are several pages long.

  6. I know of 2 people who sought help from complementary medicine practitioners for gall stones. The first was told to drink a mix of orange juice and vegetable oil (sorry, don't know which kind) in large quantities. It sounded horrible and almost impossible to do but she did it and passed a huge amount of small stones. I think there's something about this treatment on the 'net somewhere. A search might find it for you. The other person went for reflexology treatment and cancelled her operation. I don't know the long term outcome for her though.

  7. Several studies suggest that peppermint essential oil, when taken in an enteric-coated capsule, may dissolve gallstones.

An enteric coating is one that passes through the stomach's digestive tract.

studies suggest peppermint oil can also help keep gallstone blockage from occurring.

A typical dosage would be 0.2 to 0.4 millilitre in enteric-coated capsules 2 times a day between meals.Check with your doctor for what ammount you should take.

Taking some supplements might not be a bad idea either.

    Vitamin C.

Deficiencies in Vitamin C have been linked to gallstone formation, taking Vitamin C in supplements may prevent more from forming.

Typical dosage:1,000 to 3,000 milligrammes a day, with meals.Check with your doctor on the amount you should take.

    Vitamin E.

Vitamin E helps scavenge free radicals, the damaging molecules that eating oxidised fats(like fried foods creates).

Clinical studies also indicate that it may prevent gallstone formation.

Typical dosage: 200 to 800 IU per day.Check with your doctor the amount you should take.

    Hydrochloric acid

hydrochloric acid is the kind that your stomach uses to digest food.

people who lack sufficient amounts of this acid can be prone to developing gallstones.

Typical dosage is usually 1 to 5 capsules a day.

Start with one tablet a day and build up,following the recommendations of the manufacturer or your doctor.

    Taking dandelion can also help.

The root has been traditionally used to treat both liver and gallblader obstructions, improve overall liver function and promote bile production.More bile means there's less chance of it becoming oversaturated with cholesterol or calcium, which means,it less likely gallstones will form.

Typical dosage would be:1,000 to 2,000 milligrams of powdered root a day.

I hope I was of some help.

    Take care.
