Yes.  It's a secret airfield in Nevada, inside a military controlled zone.  The stealth aircraft where tested there.

Yes, It's is still under commission. It specialised in special elite us air force aircfraft. The area is heavily gaurded around the perimeter. There is definitely no evidence of 'extra terrestrials' in area 51.

The reason why there is such heavy security there is due to the elite class of projects. these only involve aerial warfare.

It's rumoured they experimented on aliens because an unidentified aircraft flew from the area and nobody could identify it!!!The myth was later foiled when they publicised the  origins of the craft.

WE know the aircraft today as a " stealth jet" that cannot be detected through radio waves.

From my knowledge about Area 51 it's a secret hide-out where the government can test military stuff .

Back in the old days Nevada was previously split up into Areas which made Area 51 ... Area 51 . So it kept it's name and it has been made majorly popular becuase of aliens . People think that Area 51 had something to do with the Rosewell incident . The people think that the government is trying to hide up the fact it might have actually happened .

Some people even think they're hiding an alien spacecraft in there facility .

Of course there is.  In fact, there's about 112 "areas", so designated by our government.  Groom Air Force Base happens to be in Area "51", and it's essentially a base that's remote enough that testing can be conducted in near-privacy.
