  1. and to add on Rillifane comments, if found in possession of such an item you risk jail and a large fine.

Usually based on the real value of the counterfit good. Also the good is of course taken away.

Beware upon landing in Paris, Customs love nothing more than catch someone flashing a counterfit bag or watch..

  2. There is a china town in paris in the 13th "arrondissement" , or you can go to "Barbes" on saturdays .

  3. I was in Paris last week and saw some for sale near the Flea Markets (in the north of Paris).  Mostly small items - no hangbags - but wallets.   They are not stall holders but people who sell from the 'inside of their coats'.   Sorry, cant remember the name of the markets but you should be able to find it on google.  they are only open certain days

  4. Go on Champs Elysees.  You will see guys from Senegal with big blankets they lay out on the street that they set the purses on.  When the police come, they pick up their blankets and take off.  There are probably guys like this all over the city, but I specifically remember them on Champs Elysees.

  5. France, which depends for much of its trade on the strength of its brand names, is at least as rigorous as any Western country in its prosecution of criminals who manufacture, sell, or traffic in counterfeit goods.

The sale of counterfeits is a criminal offense and a knowing attempt to purchase them is equally criminal.

If you wish to participate in this criminal activity then you are advised to go to someplace like China where there is little or no enforcement of the law against this sort of crime.
