Is there an autism conference, workshop, or training happening in or near New York City from 8/15 to 8/29?

I'm looking for one any time during the last 2 weeks of Aug. The conference can be related to autism or special education, and preferably within an hour drive of NYC.

  1. Here's one for you that I found.  I'm not familiar with the area though, so I'm not sure how far away it is.  

    Autism Symposium at Cornell University

    (August 18th - August 19th)

    This two-day symposium offers parents, caregivers, and educators a map of programs, services, and support available to individuals with autism in Central New York.

    Evidence-Based Programs

    Dr. Ray Romanczyk, Director of the Institute for Child Development; Ms. Helen Bloomer, Director of Aspire Programs, the Ithaca Primary Autism Classes and others will describe evidence-based programs for children with autism.



    Technology & Autism

    Technological support for children with autism will be presented by Mr. Karl Smith, creator of The Discrete Trials Trainer; Dr. Paul Luyben, who will discuss the “Head Sprout” program and others.



    Support Services

    Self Determination, Navigating the System, Special Education Trust Funds will be explained by advocates, attorneys, and agency representatives. Panel discussions by parents and service providers will provide opportunities for parents and caregivers to bring questions to those with answers.
