is there an earings per employee number for stocks?

something like that?

I cannot seem to find it for stock listings.

  1. There is no such statistic.  Are you thinking of earnings per share (EPS)?


  2. I am not sure about Earings! but yes there must be an earnings per employee (based on average no. of employees over a period) This would give you an indication of gearing. I am not sure what this gearing is called, but obviously a company that makes a lot of profit from a small number of employees is geared different to a company that makes the same profit employing many people (labour intensive) An important statistic! In times of high employment where labour may get expensive it would be important to know. You could use sales to total wages as a ratio.

    Check MSN Money.  They show income/employee and revenue/employee.  Look up your stock, then under, Financial Results > Key Ratios > Management Efficiency.
