  1. Maybe you can train as a beautician instead? That doesn't take long.

  2. Do you want to go to a Dr. who took a short-cut ?

  3. Dermatologists are medical doctors--there is no way to "find an easier way" to be a doctor.  You are rather insulting to dermatologists out there.  They do skin surgeries and treat life threatening skin illnesses, prescribe meds.  I wouldn't want some one doing that to me who was trying to find "a short cut."

Try looking at becoming an esthetitian.

  4. Probably not. That's the whole problem with our education system. They make you sit around with years and years of elementary and secondary schooling, then more years and years of higher education. They could combine some of these years and shorten the process. But they have been doing it this way for years and years. They make young people sit around too long and then they can't get on with their lives. Good luck in finding a career that suits your time frame. Bill Gates didn't sit around the college for those many years. He got out and made a living for himself.

  5. you could become a nurse practitioner or physician assistant and work in a dermatology clinic, its only about 6 years of school and they do many of the same things (the pay is also a lot less)

  6. If you can find a way to cheat, I would not want to be your patient. My husband has psoriasis which is resistant to many treatments. Some treatments work for a while, then quit. Some have serious side effects. Some cost about $1400 a month. Why would he want a partially trained person to treat him?

  7. Maybe you want to look into why you want to be a dermatologist.  If you want to do it to help people's skin look better, maybe look into being an aesthetician rather than a dermatologist or a cosmetician or something like that...at least if you take those routes, you can skip med school.

A dermatologist is an actual medical doctor.  It sounds like you think they only deal with acne or dry skin, but they do surgeries, deal with skin cancers, treat skin diseases, etc.
