Is there an easier way to play an F chord on the guitar?

My fingers aren't long enough to put a finger on an entire fret.

Consider getting a 7/8th scale guitar.  They are impossible to find, but worth crossing the world for (in my opinion).  The Yamaha CS40 is the only one I've found so far, but you might find a steel string with similar dimensions.  

22 15/16" scale length with 1 7/8" fingerboard width at nut.

I agree with the first answer -- start by doing small barre chords and work your way up to full barres.
