Is there an easy way to align the garage door sensors at the bottom of my garage door?

I'm having trouble aligning the sensors at the bottom of the door. Since the sensor ray going from one side to the other is transparent it's hard to see the proper alignment.

  1. there should be a mode described in your installation manual that makes this easy.

  2. I think that is not a matter of technical side....

if you have problem in that side, visit

    TC!

  3. Just measure up the same distance from the floor to the bottom of the sensors.  You really need only to be just very close, not exact.  If still not working move one or the other up or down to make connection.

  4. Use an ultraviolet light, or infa-red. spirit level maybe.

  5. Grab a sam; box about 6-6" tall.

Slide it under the sensor on one side then affix thesensor.

Do thesame on the other side.

You should see a small indicator light on top of each sensor. Typically they turn green when corrrectly lined up.

  6. wha?

  7. We have installed or repaired practically all brands throughout the years and so far we haven't encountered any brand that has to be so exact that it is necessary to do any measuring for where to place the sensors.  The way we do it?  We first "eyeball it" to get the sensors set at the same approx. height.  Then set on sensor pointing pretty much dead ahead.  Adjust the other sensor until the proper indicator light comes on (on a few odd brands the light actually goes off to indicate proper alignment) letting you know that they are aligned.  Viola!  If you have a set that just absolutely will not line up then I'd bet one of the sensors has a short in it or is going bad.  Hope this helps you!

  8. youre just going to have to measure from the ground to the sensor and then mount the other one as close as possible and fiddle with it until you get it
