Is there an easy way to put down peel n stick vinyl flooring temporarily?

I want to put down the flooring for my dorm room but am looking for a way to easily get it up by December. Is there a thin plastic I can put down first or something?

go to a home depot or lowes type home improvement store and get a roll of builders paper. its about 36" wide and about a 100' long. should cost about 10.00, lay paper on floor and tape seams with masking tape. 1 layer should work but i would use 2 layers. then start laying the peel n stick vinyl
