  1. no , circuit is probably over loaded, meaning too many

appliances/lights for that on breaker. try turning on all lights for a sec.then trip breakerfor the a/c. find which lights and

other appliances go off . unplug them or turn them off.

let a/c plug cool completely.then plug it in and keep checking every other minute or so,and if it does'nt heat up again

the circuit was def overloaded. if its hot still it could be the

    cord or unit.

you should not be using an extension cord at all

  2. as long as it is not a burning hot,   warmer than usual is ok,

  3. its normal but a different outlet may help

  4. yes that's normal.sometimes it happens

  5. If is a window unit its normal.set it to low cool so it can cool down .

  6. HVAC Tech.:  NO! And it is not safe either.Something Is not making good contact either the plug wire from the a/c unit or the wall plug need to be replaced.  You are not using an extension cord on that are you?? There is the danger of fire.

  7. Warm is normal, hot is not.

If you had a pillow keeping the air from cooling that

plug & wire that explains the heat build up.

You're luck not to have started a fire.

    Don't do that again.

  8. The pillow could have caused it, but you should have the plug changed.  Heat is usually an indication of a bad plug, which is also a fire hazard.
