In Brazil the emergency services  are "Samo 192" and "Corp the bombeiros" (The Fire department), there is also Unimed which is an upmarket hospital medical service and they have their own Hospital as well. All emergency numbers are covered in Tourist brochures etc. No worries at all.

Brazil is more developed than you imagine. Of course there is emergency medical services and fire depts. You just need to call 193 ( in all contry ) for a fire dept, and inform yourself about the emergency medical service in the city you are visiting.

fire dept phone is 193 and u can call them for free on public phones and mobile phones but don't worry.... if something bad happens(it won't) everyone will try to help...
