  2. There are tons and tons of Indian restaurants in the Bay Area and its hard to recommend one. Here is a list of restaurants in Cupertino

Getting introduced to Indian food is rather easy because you almost all Indian restaurants in the US offer a buffet for lunch. You can go in and try whatever you like. A typical buffet would consists of the following

    - Breads - usually serve Naan, an Indian bread at your table

    - Dals - Lentils

    - Vegetarian dishes - cauliflower, potato, eggplant, spinach

    - Chicken/Goat or Lamb dishes - Korma, Tikka Masala, Curry

    - Dessert - Rice Kheer, Icream or Gulab Jamun

Indian food is very very diverse, each state is like a different country and has very different dishes. If you have the patience, look at this Wikipedia link

I also assume you must be new to the area because its hard to imagine that you have not had Indian food living in Cupertino. I might suggest that you go with an Indian co-worker who may make your first trip a little simpler.

I hope this is the first on many visits to Indian restaurants
