i have never heard of saltwater mollies only freshwater/ tropical mollies

All mollies are salt water.  Pet stores keep them in fresh and sell them as tropicals, however they are one of the few like guppies that are both.  When you buy your mollies you will need to float them longer adding your salt water to their bag.  Be sure they put them in a LARGER bag.  You will need to float them for around an hour.  Don't worry won't hurt them.  Only the higher end fish stores will keep the mollies in full salt.

Just remember every 10 min. or so, add more of your tank water to the bag water.  Release in an hour they will be fine.
