  1. All major brokerage firms provide their clients with on-line services, including trading platforms, latest market & financial news and research.

It seems that the most popular firms for on-line investing all of which provide excellent platforms and services are; Scottrade; Chas.Schwab; TDAmeritrade; and Fidelity,

Just be prepared to deposit funds in US dollars, and be concerned of money conversion rates,  the tax withholding requirements all of which can be addressed by the above firms,

Good luck, an American by birth, Irish by the grace of God.

  4. If you are just interested in investing in the US markets, some US based brokers will allow you to open an international account.  I currently use Firstrade ( http://www.firstrade.com/ ).  They are cheaper than big name brokers such as Etrade, Ameritrade, Schwab, and Scottrade.  They have excellent customer service and an easy to use website.  I would definitely recommend that you check them out.  For more information about how to apply for an international investor at Firstrade, check out this website: http://www.firstrade.com/public/en_us/pr...
