I am familiar with an "Unschooling Umbrella School" in CO that offers an accredited High School Diploma. We no longer live there and I was hoping to find one in TX but to no avail. I know I can issue a diploma to my child when I feel they have completed the course work I have set, but in some ways I would like help in figuring out how to put together everything we have done so far and some direction in how to finish up High School. My student will be a junior this year.

I would even consider a school in another state if it was very cost affective.

Please if you know of such a school or have worked with one I would like to hear from you.

Thank you

  1. Afaik, Texas does not have such a thing.

ADDED: I had a thought come to me: http://www.clonlara.org/home_based It came up in The Teenage Liberation Handbook and I've seen it advertised in unschooling magazines. They're not based in Texas, but this may be just the thing you are looking for.

2nd ADDITION: Okay, I came across another one I should have thought of: The Moore Foundation. http://www.moorefoundation.com/index.php . I think they would provide what you are looking for. But that West River Academy looks good, too. Do they have a problem with you being in TX instead of CO?
