  1. Ally, the only passenger service in the US is Amtrak.

  2. Move to where ever it is you can find a job that will support you.    Worry about transportation when you know the options available to you.

Amtrak handles all the long-distance passenger rail in the United States.   The main competitor to them is Greyhound.

  3. All rail passenger service in the USA is handled by Amtrak.  You can find out all about service, stations, and schedules at www.amtrak.com.

Amtrak service has been pretty bad, but is beginning to improve.  The Bush administration tried to shut the railroads down completely, but was not able to do so.  Now their time is almost over, and they seem to have given up.  Rail passenger service will expand and improve after the next election.

  4. Well, first of all, you are confusing railroad companies with train stations.

At present, only Amtrak operates rail intercity passenger service in our nation.  In more populated areas, there are light rail and Metrolink trains, but they do not go far.  And Amtrak is not reliable, unfortunately.  That is because the railroads and our government want to kill rail passenger service altogether.
