Is there any Environmental Goals in India?

We have seen Delhi not selected for hosting the Asian Games and the reason cited was 'Pollution and Traffic choas'. Millions across the country are not having access to good water. Every day millions in cities are exposed to air pollution leading to the biggest public health concerns. There are no proper solid waste disposal in many many cities. As industralisation becomes the mantra for many cities, rivers and land are polluted due to industrial discharges. All these have long term effect and these problems sometimes are irreversible. Indeed, India is in the economical growth mood, but sadly our environment is not taken care off. London and UK has set up national goals for reducing energy. Is it time for India to set up Environmental Goals and make every citizen and goivernment agencies accountable. What can we do to set up goals and make our country a enjoyable place to live and play.
