  1. There are no OTC beta blockers or meds with beta blocker-like effects. I can speak to that with some certainty. As for natural meds, I don't know, there's a lot of strange ones out there. I can guarantee that most of them would lack to potency for dealing with the main beta blocker indication - high blood pressure.

  2. A beta blocker inhibits the electrical impulses in the heart, thereby reducing the force of its pumping action. This is one way that doctors try to treat high blood pressure. Obviously it does not treat the cause of the blood pressure and has unwanted side effects.

I am a medical herbalist and have successfully helped many people to lower their blood pressure and avoid drugs. I suggest you go to see a local herbalist because this is not something to treat over the internet.

Some herbs to suggest are hawthorn berry or leaf - long term use is safe and effective. Garlic and motherwort are other heart tonics.Blood vessel supportive herbs such as yarrow, and nervous system tonic herbs like valerian are also used. Crampbark relaxes blood vessels, bilberry nourishes and maintains their tone...there are many herbs that support the cardiovascular system. A  herbalist can make a combination that deals with your particular health issues that contribute to raised blood pressure.
