Is there any advantage of owning two Wii Fits instead of one?

there is no advantage because you can only have one balance board connected to the wii.

Not as far as Wii Fit is concerned. You can use two Balance Boards for other games, such as We Ski and the upcoming skate boarding games.

I don't think you connect more than one board at once, so it's rather pointless.
