As alternate source of energy why can't we use generated a.c. supply to drive the same generator so no extra diesel or petrol or kerosene is needed moreover only need is a supply or drive to start the generator

  1. Because it always requires more power to drive the generator than what it produces. Frictional losses, heat losses, magnetic drag..... they all add up.

  2. That would be an impossible perpetual motion machine. In real life any energy from a generator is less than the energy that needs to be put in to make the generator work. So if you tried that the initial energy would run down and there would be less and less driving energy till it just stopped.

  3. Theoretically OK. But practically it is simply impossible.

  4. It is always dc and for many benefits it made ac.  So how it can be that generator produce ac.

  5. If I get you right, you want a generator that runs itself. You want to avoid using the Prime Mover on independent energy source basis, which is essential for rotating the generator. You want to use the electric power generated by the generator to run the Prime Mover again, like a vicious circle.

But you must know the rule number on in Energy Conversion, “Energy does not vanish, and cannot be generated from Nill”.

I believe this idea will not work because you ignored the prime energy concept, which comes from diesel fuel in diesel generators, and from Electrical Power in Generators run by electric Prime Mover.

  6. this is not possible with normal generators...

the same thing happens with 'inverters'...

the batteries are charged when the electric supply is there...

it provides its own saved power when there is no electric supply...
