  1. First, I have a relative on dialysis (haemo) and the thought of it was pretty horrible to him.  But he says it's not so bad, and you get into a routine, and have some health and energy back, and frankly the alternative is pretty limiting!  It's just a regular part of his week now, and he usually sleeps through much of it.

Second , I have a cat with renal failure - which they would normally give dialysis for in humans.  I have been trying the cat on a new probiotic mix which helps reduce the toxemia symptioms of kidney failure. So far the cat is doing extremely well - like his old self.  I gather the vet company is doing clinical trails.  More importantly, the company who developed the probiotic strains used are starting to do trials on humans needing dialysis.  Meanwhile my brother has started taking lots of natural yogurt which is helping with the nausea, and I have suggested heand his doctors investigate where they are with the clinical trials and whether this would be a good 'add-on' for him.

And qi gong (chi kung) helps kidney energy and function also.

BUT DON'T refuse the dialysis - start with it, add the other things, and see how you feel when everything is working well together.  At the moment your bad physical state will probably be affecting your thinking  - feeling sick doesn't help your judgement.

    Good luck.

  2. Yes the alternative to dialysis is kidney transplant, which is what I told your "friend" when he asked the exact same question yesterday.

There is no other rational alternative. There are no magic herbs, diet, cleanse, detox, vitamins, chants, energy work or crystals that will do anything other than delay appropriate treatment, and empty your wallet while your disease progresses.

I'm sorry that at only 26 you are facing this problem, but you need to know the facts, and not be given false hope by the charlatans who want to sell you their magic potions, and take no responsibility when it doesn't work.

EDIT  Winnie : It is standard advice with renal patients to restrict proteins to reduce the stress on the kidney. You've discovered nothing new.  One of the ways kidney disease is diagnosed and monitored is tracking how well the kidney does with protein by how much is lost in the urine.  "doctors don't care about diet"?  that's bullshit.

  3. kidney transplantation

that is best of m knowledge

  4. The only alternative is transplant

  5. Have your doctors prescribed any other kind of treatment options to help reduce the load on your kidneys?  Primarily you should be eating a low protein diet.  Choose soy over  meat for your protein needs.  The kidneys have to work harder to excrete meat by-products.  I'm sorry, I'm not a medical person but have to take care with my own kidney function.  Like you, I don't want to be on dialysis, so I did research on the net to find out what the best diet is for kidney disease.  Doctors do not necessarily care much about the best diet when it comes to health problems.  I found a noticeable improvement in kidney function after becoming vegetarian.  Alternatively for you, dialysis might only be a temporary solution until a donor kidney becomes available.
