I think you have to make your own experience, not to bulid your opinion on others experience, for me I have two experience for that case, One so bad and other till now very good!

i am an American who married a Jordanian. Cultural difference, language differences. living in a third world country is difficult and the immigration process is long and hard and so many other things are difficult. weak do not apply for this. Love is the thing which will keep you strong so many things to rethink and try new things. weed out the bad and bring in a mutual agreed plan. We are different thinking Americana's what we value is sometimes not what others value. think about it long and hard before you travel the miles. if you only meet him on the Internet or have you been together before. ask me more in a private email if you like

I will get married in Egypt next week. The embassy only sends you a link to the website.

You need to go to the embassy first , then go to the court house. It is "supposed to be" a  simple process and can do both in the same day. Sorry that in all the info I have.
