Is there any antivities for environmentalist high school student?

I am in high school looking for environmental programs activities.

If you don't have an ecology club at your school, you can start one. My high school had one called Roots-and-Shoots. They just discussed different ideas to do as a group.

lets see...there is car pooling, recycling(depending on what is avaliable) work with the school board in chaing the buses to an alternative fuel source to diesel.

If you are looking for ways to help your local environment, then try making your local shopping precinct plastic bag free.  If you wanted to pursue this, you would need to first gain local and possiby state government support, both financial and moral. Get some environmenta grants, and then campaign. It might also help to supply the stores with reusable shopping bags, and replacing some of the plastic bags in stores with paper. Trust me...it's not easy.

There are a lot of programs that were created to help students.

1. Adopt a river or roadway- it is were a group of people get together and take responsibility to clean up their communities by cleaning a dry length of roadway or river which is filled with trash.

2. Teens for Planet Earth- it is and organization through the Wildlife Conservation Society which helps give students grants to restore habitat and educate the public.

3. State Stream and Lake Teams- this is an organization that allows you to monitor water for pollution in your communities. It also encourages you to give presentations about protecting water quality to younger students in scouts, 4-H or elementary school.

4. Create your own project. The recycling system in the town I currently live in was created by a group of students. And even now is mostly run by students. Sometime all it takes is a student with a vision to make a different.
