Is there any benefit to having Cooling Fans on PS3?

Question

I was wondering if there is any benefit to having a Intec Playstation 3 Pro cooling system on a PS3 while it is in the Horizontal position? I was doing some research and found that keeping this console Horizontal makes it cooler but would having this cooling system while the console is in the horizontal position have any benefit to making it even more cooler and not overheat?

don;t get coolers. it'll only wreck your ps3. that intec cooler is noisy as h**l (my friend has that). lolz. just put the ps3 on the open i.e. top of a table, beside the tv, etc just ddont put it on an enclosed space and even if you play it for 8 hours straight it will be okay. almost half of the ps3 is the cooling systen.

yes anytime you can cool electronics like that it will benefit the life and performance of your system ........ thats why computer server rooms are kept so cold and everything has a fan

Your ps3 fan does an adequate job cooling your ps3, you do not need to buy that, in fact, it can be harmful to your system since it disrupts the original fans function; those fans are just gimmicks for third party companies to make money off of you, trust me.
