  1. Instead of a textbook, I highly recommend The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, in which she relates the Arthurian legends from the perspective of the female characters. It is one of the most original and emotional retelling of the Arthurian legend.  Good luck.

  2. Actually, there is no thing as "The story of King Arthur"

There are at least to persons who stand model for King Arthur.

One of them was a Roman-British Soldier who seemed to have stopped some Sacsian attacks. Some claim that he was called Ambrosius Aurelianus.

Another would be Riothamus a Breton King. That would explain "king of Brittany."

A lot of the Kelic story is told by Christian monks  who model led the person and the story among Christian lines.

Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Arthur for a lot more information.

  3. I would suggest this site. i use it a lot for my research
