  1. Whatever your religion is it seems to be pretty bigoted.

Christianity is not bigoted though some religions like athiesm are pretty bigoted.

You seem to confuse a difference of opinion with bigotry.

I am not bigoted for saying homosexual s*x is sin. That is what God said and I agree with God. God is right, you are wrong.

  2. Hmmmmm ..... Well, buddha did mentioned if you do evil things you will receive bad Karma. Is that classified as inducing fear of punishment?

  3. No, Buddhism is pretty much the most accepting religion there is.

  4. I tend to be intolerant of ignorance and bigotry.

But I think that is a personal shortcoming, not a Buddhist teaching.

  5. As far as pure doctrine and dogma go (or dharma, to use the appopriate term) Buddhism is completely free of bigotry and discrimination of any kind.  In reality, however, Buddhism has spread throughout India, China, Japan and large portions of southeastern Asia during different periods of history and, seeing as none of those cultures were perfect, neither was the religion the people practiced.  Buddhism, in practice, was and often is as silly and supersticious as any other widely followed religion.  Bodhisttavas are often prayed to like gods, and Buddhist nuns were often treated much worse than monks or priests in many Asian countries, for example.

However, there are a few things that set apart Buddhism from other religions in the human rights sense - the big one is that there has never been any significant bloodshed in the name of Buddhism.
