I am looking to insure my car do all of the insurance company's require a down payment for their policies??

  1. you have to at least pay 1/6 of a 6 month policy up front - no one lets you make payments at the end of a month - only at teh beginning

    Some of the companies don't require down payments.

  5. No.  See, a policy is a CONTRACT.  In order for the contract to be valid, you have to put in your part - your payment.

    FWIW, you can't buy lottery tickets without putting money down, either.

  7. No insurance company requires a down payment.  The payment you make when you get your policy pays for the first time period it runs.
