  1. No.  There is no chance of that happening.  A new species requires not only a mutation, but more importantly isolation.  Now if you took a group of humans and isolated them on the moon for 20 generations, then absolutely yes, you would have a new species.  However in our global Internet jet age, no part of the planet is isolated from another.  And without isolation, no new species is possible.

  2. In the future, anything is possible!

  3. It seems unlikely.  Assuming that an inheritable mutation confers a substantial advantage to the mutant, the mutant would still be human, and would still be able to make mutant babies with humans, otherwise, the mutation would not spread.

  4. If you believe in evolution then, yes, it is entirely possible.  Life experiments through mutation, if it finds a good one, it sticks.

If you're thinking of x-men style.  probably not.  :/

  5. Some people consider the human races to be sub-species now. Human races are more noticeably different from one another as some bird sub-species, for example. It's a delicate subject because of the elements of racism that are read into it.

To split into two new species would require split populations.  in our near future, the most likely way to achieve that would be isolation in space, on other planets and in large enough colonies.  Given time and isolation, it could happen.

So: for sub-species, there is a good chance it has happened already.  Just depends on your definition of sub-species.

For the two species split, yes, there is a chance.
