  1. It is currently only some college presidents who want this. Sad part is, they won't be able to handle it any better than what they have now. All they are looking for is to make it legal so they can claim they have no responsibility. I do not think you will see any changes in the near (or far) future.

  2. a few colleges have adopted the Amethyst Initiative, which explains why underaged binge drinking is highly dangerous on college campuses. The presidents of the schools (like Tufts, Middlebury.. etc) are pressuring whatever government body is responsible for the drinking law (i should probably know who's in charge of it.. but i dont.. so ok) to lower the drinking age.

personally, idk if the current youth of america can handle the switch. i think it should be more of a process.

so yes, i suppose there is a chance it could be lowered in the near future, but it is more likely to change over a lengthier period of time.

  3. Sadly I doubt it will happen. Unfortunately our society is not developing at the rate it once was and the youth of our nation is further proving their destructive tendancies and lack of ability to handle responsibility. I personally do not approve of the legal drinking age in the states being 21, but at the same time I understand why it is in place... And I accept that most of our 18 year olds are simply not mature enough to handle alcohol and to not over use and even misuse the substance... If anything I believe in the future it'll end up going up... (I just hope they match the legal drinking age to the age citizens can be judged as adults.
