In Ireland it is very difficult to consult a specialist doctor. For that you have to go to the General Practitioner and then he/she will send u to the specialist and then appointment and thousands of hazzles.

  1. It is really difficult. It depends what kind of specialist doctor you are looking for, for some cases like a dermatologist, your not going to get an appointment for a long time depending where your G.P refers you to.

You best bet would be just to go to your G.P and let him/her refer you to a specialist if you ask them to. You are more likely to be able to make an appointment through your G.P and getting a date for an appointment before someone else who doesnt go through their G.P

  2. In Dublin,  I would simply ring the Mater Private Hospital or the Blackrock Clinic and ask the receptionist to put you through to the secretary of a particular consultant, who will deal with your complaint. They will treat you privately for a fat fee.
