  1. tracotor supply

  2. Charley,

You get what you pay for.  Try ebay for affordable USED items that you need.

You can find better quality (NOT made in India or Argentina), for less money.

  3. i am not sure if you shop online or not but go to horse.com the "store" is called country supply all of there stuff is discounted...and if you don't want to purchase online request a catolauge and they will keep sending you one for every season!! hope this helped

  4. Yes there is cheap equestrian products.  Just remember, you get what you pay for.  Best to buy the good stuff up front, it actually costs less in the long run.  If you are looking to save money consider used stuff.  A quality used saddle is still a quality saddle, just not as expensive as new.  Same goes for head stalls.  Just make sure your thouroghly clean any used tack that you buy.  I prefer new bits, and saddle pads though, strictly for hygienic purposes.

Just buy the basics, you don't need all the fluff.  A good stiff stable brush, a softer brush for the face and natural bristle brush for washing, a hoof pick, and a sweat scraper are the only things that are absolutely necessary as far as grooming supplies are concerned.  The rest are nice to haves - not gotta haves.

A saddle, girth, pad, headstall, bit, reins, halter and lead are the only tack you absolutely need.

Depending on where you live and your stabling situation you might need a blanket or "rug".

A feed bucket, water container, hay manger, manure pick and muck bucket are the basic stable supplies that are necessary.

As far as basic first aid supplies, well you hope you never need them but you should have vet wrap, bandages, antibiotic ointment as basic, basic stuff, check with your vet for a more complete list.

A good fly spray or bug repellent are considered necessary in some parts of the world, the best ones often cost up to $20 a quart.

  5. I don't know of anything shop that is cheap, but maybe look for used stuff.  I hate the fact that everything that has to do with horses is so expensive.  Try looking around for used items, sometimes people are selling stuff at their own barns, so check bulletin boards at your barn.  Hope this kinda helped...

  6. You can get plenty of quality horse stuff on ebay. I do 80% of my horse shopping on ebay. As long as you do your research and know what you're getting, you should be okay. I haven't been disappointed yet :)

  7. What item are you looking for?
