  2. For reaching Pondicherry, you have to cross through Tamil Nadu for which you have to take the Hosur Road.

    If you are going in a white board vehicle (private / own vehicle), you have to pay the checkpost toll for using the 4 lane road in Tamil Nadu. This toll has to be paid near Krishnagiri.

    If you are going in a yellow board vehicle (taxi / tourist taxi), first you have to pay the state entry tax as soon as you enter Hosur and also pay the above mentioned checkpost toll for using the road.

    The two laned road between Krishnagiri & Tiruvanamalai is quite good,  and in one stretch there are few potholes wherein you should be careful.

    From Tiruvanamalai there are 2 routes to reach Pondicherry, one is through Gingee, Tindivanam and the other one is through Villupuram. The Gingee route is in good condition.
